July 24, 2007
Dear Seattle Bank Members,
Beginning August 1, 2007, the Seattle Bank will make approximately $800,000 of Home$tart Program funds available to participating members on a first-come, first-served basis, as homebuyers are enrolled.
The Home$tart Program year began on April 1, 2007, when participating members each received an allocation of $15,000 that was guaranteed for a period of four months. However, because Home$tart is a popular program and funding is limited, any funds set aside and not used for enrolled homebuyers by August 1, 2007, will be returned to the program and made available to all members on a first-come, first-served basis.
Members who wish to participate in the Home$tart Program may do so by contacting Senior Community Programs Analyst Tracy Brewer at tracyb@fhlbsea.com or 206.340.8748. Members currently participating in the program may enroll homebuyers any time. Enrollment and disbursement forms are available in the Community Investment section of the Seattle Bank's Web site.
Since Home$tart was established in 1995, 179 Seattle Bank members have made $34.3 million available to more than 7,000 low-income, first-time homebuyers. We are pleased to partner with our members to address the affordable housing needs in their communities. We encourage your participation in the Home$tart Program, and we welcome any questions you may have.
